The QRisk Vision - a safer world, one client at a time.

Our story so far

It started in 2011 with a simple vision of creating a safer world, one client at a time. Personal safety & security harm comes in all forms from what you can encounter in the everyday to, terrorising catastrophic events. We know, we have lived, trained for and worked through them.

We believe that there is a better way to prepare and respond to harm than layering on more rules, providing superficial protection, ignoring the heart of the risk or putting everything through the complicator.

While our team comes from vastly different fields of expertise, from our work in the Police, conflict zones, natural disasters, international personal protection, scams, frauds, workplace bullying prevention to aggressive customers,  our common bond is empowering, educating and supporting people safety and security.

We calmly approach safety, risk reduction and protection with simplicity & pragmatism. We love what we do, and we love helping our clients become more resilient.

We want our clients to live life, travel, work and play knowing that their engagement with QRisk has made them a little more safer and awareness savvy in a changing world.

A safer world one client at a time - from sharing life skills on personal safety and security awareness, tactical leadership, to gritty thought provoking keynote presentations – QRisk is founded on our values of trust, alignment and confidence.

QRisk Training Ambassador - Noreen

I am extremely proud to be a QRisk training ambassador, and to have my story out there so that others can learn. It’s a QRisk mantra that people learn through story, and it’s my hope people continue to learn through mine.

It feels like it was not so long ago I came face to face with an evil side of our society when I was followed and attacked by a predator after stepping off an Auckland train one evening. In that life changing moment though, I fought back – I had to fight, the only other option was to succumb and be a victim of sexual violence or homicide and become another statistic in the newspaper headlines for a day.

That wasn’t how my story was going to end.

What I love about the QTraining courses is that it is so much more than self-defence.

It’s about having the skills to identify risk, put in place simple strategies and making good decisions. The self defence should be the insurance policy – the last resort.

It would have been way better for me to have recognised and acted when I saw the red flags rather than having to fight for my life.

I know the offender that night is undeniably responsible for my attack, I had the right to go home in peace. I now know, through the help of QTraining that there are things I can control, I have a sphere of influence and now I am in tune with my environment, I know how to identify risk flags and put in place some simple strategies to protect myself.

It really is about have that right, empowering and appropriate level of situational awareness.

If you want to hear more about me and my story, then I can be available to come and speak alongside the QRisk facilitators to really empower your people on safety & security through situational awareness.

After my attack I was sent so many messages of love and support. I was sent this one quote from a friend that spoke to my soul and helped me on my journey to heal.

I carry these words daily as a tattoo that reads “You never know how strong you are, until being strong is your only choice” - Bob Marley

QRisk Values

Trust

We aim to build it with our clients quickly. We think it’s the highest value you can have. Part of that trust is developed by listening and understanding your needs, communicating openly and delivering. What we say we will do. You can trust that.

Alignment

Alignment in thinking and values is key. We don't necessarily need to agree on all matters and healthy tension is good - but alignment in desired outcomes is gold and necessary. We like to work with people that think the same way.

Confidence

We aim to provide confidence to our clients quickly. This is not through waffle and false statements of expertise and bravado. It is through delivery of a high-impact consultancy where we take our work super seriously but not always ourselves.
